SIG (Surgery Interest Group) is a society associated with the Department of Surgery at AKU.
We're medical students who want to become surgeons. Through SIG, we arrange surgical skills workshops, meet and greet sessions with visiting surgeons, panel discussions and various interesting activities for the students.
Presently, both Dr Sadaf Khan and Dr Amir Shariff supervise our activities. We also compiled an annual newsletter called "A Stitch In Time" which we hope to make biannual.
We have a Facebook Group where student members of SIG can interact with alumni in Surgery. Please do join it. We post all our updates and events here.
If you are an alumnus in Surgery, visiting AKU and want to meet with medical students interested in becoming surgeons, you can contact us and we will arrange a meet and greet session for you.
