A group of students at AKU have been arranging government school visits, first aid education and women health education sessions in an effort to bring change in the community. At the government schools they conduct medical health checkups, vision screening and provide health education, free medicines and eye glasses. Currently a team of 20 dedicated core members with more than 300 general members is leading these programs on weekends. The unique thing about this team is that all of them are medical students.

Humanity Initiative started working in 2013 after the Abbass Town bomb blast and is now a registered NGO. The mission behind this organization's effort is to involve medical students in the community thereby making them more sensitive to the needs of the common people. Through the organization's activities, there is great stress put on personal skill development of the young medical students. In the near future, it is our priority to start involving students of school of nursing as well.

Now as we grow, we need your support. We have set targets for 2017 to conduct school projects, women health projects and first aid, CPR programs on a monthly basis. Your support is essential. We need to buy training equipment for our first aid training session. The funds will also be used in providing medicines and free eye glasses to the children belonging to under privileged schools. We are hoping to see a good response from the alumni. It will be our priority to follow up with you about how money was spent.
